Tools and services to visualize internal link

Google search for "internal link visualization" or "site structure visualization" reveals only a limited number of tools that can be found. In particular, there are few tools that graphically represent the internal link structure.

Internal links are important, but there were no good tools to visually check the structure and status of internal links. This is the reason why I developed Link Map Viewer .

How to check structure of internal link

When you place internal link, you may think that linking from this article to that article is effective for both readers and search engines, and is good from an SEO point of view. However, as the number of articles and internal links increases, it is difficult to know if they are currently in the desired state. Even if you reread an article and know the originating links, you don't know what the links to that article are.

The best way for humans to see this internal link structure is to visualize (graphically represent) it. Even if we are presented with a list of internal links, it is impossible to envision the internal link structure.

Without visualizing internal link, it is an impossible task for humans to properly manage internal link. However, tools and services for this purpose have not been satisfactory, even in the highly competitive SEO industry.

Limited option to visualize internal link

Sitebulb

Although google search points me Sitebulb at higher position, I don’t think Sitebulb can actually visualize internal link. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)

Below is crawl map of my testing site. No, this is not what I wanted to see.

WebSite Auditor

WebSite Auditor can visualize site structure. Below is what I got with my testing site.

It looks like commonly provided result. Selecting page gave me this.

It visualizes pages and links but different from what I want.

Screaming Frog SEO Spider

Screaming Frog SEO Spider is very popular to analyze competing sites. Below is what I got with my testing site.

This may work well analyzing competing sites but is not what I wanted.

Link Map Viewer

It is a tool I developed which completely different approach is selected.

  • Windows application that specializes in visualizing internal links.
  • It was subscription based paid service before but now it is absolutely free. Anyone can use it for free of charge. Enjoy.
  • Works with any CMS including WordPress.
  • It is not a tool for analyzing sites you don't own. Visible internal links are only available for sites with verified ownership.

Below is result of my testing site, selecting pillar page of some topic cluster modeled pages.

Pillar content in the center and cluster content in a circle around it. Links between content are indicated by lines with one-way or two-way arrows.

Links from/to focused page and linked pages are highlighted. Clicking cluster content changes display like this.

There are one outbound link, one backlink, and one mutual link. This way you can view internal links easily and precisely.

Link Map Viewer takes a completely different approach to visualizing internal links than existing tools and services. The resulting visualization is realistically manageable and durable for everyday use.
